Two different ways to reach the follicle
Almost every clinic shopping for a laser hair removal machine in Australia ends up weighing the same two approaches, so it is worth setting out plainly how they differ. Both destroy the hair follicle by heating it through the melanin in the hair shaft. They get there by different routes.
The traditional route is a high-fluence single-pulse laser, usually a 755 nm alexandrite for lighter skin and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG for darker skin, fired one wavelength at a time.
