Alma Hybrid is the top-tier fractional laser platform from Alma Lasers. Alma Hybrid as a fractional laser for resurfacing and rejuvenation

As a fractional laser, Alma Hybrid treats discrete zones and leaves the tissue between them intact. The CO2 component delivers fractional ablation with surrounding coagulation for surface renewal, while the 1570 nm component creates deeper thermal zones without ablating the epidermal surface.

A non ablative laser and a CO2 laser on one platform

The 1570 nm non ablative laser can be used on its own (SoftLift™) where surface ablation is not the objective, or combined with CO2 (HybridLift™) for broader surface renewal plus deeper remodelling. The CO2 can also be used superficially for structured light resurfacing (PixelPeel™). Recovery varies with the approach and is planned with the patient before treatment.

As a skin resurfacing laser, Alma Hybrid is designed for skin rejuvenation and resurfacing, texture and visible photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, striae, selected laxity-related concerns and benign lesions. Suitability is assessed for each patient by the treating practitioner.

Published work on the platform includes Arellano-Huacuja on keloid management with a combined continuous-wave and repeat fractionated CO2 regimen, Tsur Shenhav and colleagues on the dual CO2 and 1570 nm laser for periorbital rejuvenation, and Somji and Solomon on the 1570 nm scanner for non-ablative face and neck rejuvenation.

IMPACT: pathway and payload

CO2-created micro-channels form the pathway, a carefully selected topical is the payload, and IMPACT ultrasound may support its distribution through the temporarily more permeable barrier. IMPACT is an adjunct to clinical judgement and does not make an unsuitable topical appropriate.

What qualifications or approval do you need to operate the Alma Hybrid?

Operator requirements are set by each state and territory, not by Alma, and they differ. Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia licence laser use; other states apply different rules, and requirements change. Our Laser and IPL Regulations page keeps the current position for every state, and we take each clinic through what applies to them before installation. Whatever the state rule, every installation includes on-site clinical training for your team by an Alma clinical specialist.

Is it worth it compared with a CO2-only laser?

Alma Hybrid adds a 1570 nm non-ablative wavelength and IMPACT to fractional CO2. If your clinic is built on scar revision and rejuvenation and you want to plan intensity and recovery across a wider range, that is the argument. What does it cost, and is finance available?

We do not publish list prices, because the platform is configured to the clinic. There are no consumables, so after purchase the cost per treatment is practitioner time. Every quote includes installation, clinical training and a 12-month factory warranty. Equipment finance is available through Australian lenders including Medfin.
